Description
This timepiece is inspired by the twenty four ‘Sekki’ or seasons in Japan; since ancient times these changes in the weather and nature have been incorporated into Japanese daily life. This new Grand Seiko is inspired by the scenery at T?hoku during the fourth ‘Sekki’ known as Shunbun. In late March, during the vernal equinox, T?hoku blooms with pink cherry blossoms whilst snow continues to fall, covering the delicate petals. The dial of this piece recreates the light silvery pink colouring of the Tokuko cherry blossom, named ‘Sakura-Kakushi.’ The handcrafted dial is enclosed in box sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating.
